Molecular genetics and cytogenetics

Analysis of the structure and organisation of DNA is an important method of investigation in the clinical and diagnostic field for an increasing number of genetic diseases.  The application of molecular genetics covers several areas: prenatal to postnatal investigations; oncogenetics, i.e., the branch of genetics that identifies hereditary tumour mutations; intolerances and susceptibility to coeliac disease.
