Rheumatoid factor
Clinical indications
The Rheumatoid Factor is an auto-antibody directed against other antibodies of the organism to which it belongs, which are mistakenly recognized as foreign.
Its dosage may be requested in the case of joint pain and a sense of fatigue to diagnose the possible presence of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).
Elevated levels of rheumatoid factor may indicate autoimmune disorders and persistent bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections.
