Clinical indications
This test is required to test for blood clots following thrombotic events, miscarriages, prior to surgery and to monitor anticoagulant drug therapies.
Partial thromboplastin time (PTT) allows the quantity and function of clotting factors to be assessed by measuring the seconds required for clot formation in a blood sample after the addition of certain reagents.
