Antigene Anti-HBsAg

Clinical indications

HBsAg or s-antigen or the Australia antigen is a surface antigen of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and is the infection marker par excellence. It allows infection to be determined 1 to 10 weeks after the onset of symptoms, and in case of recovery, it becomes negative within 4–6 months.

The persistence of HBsAg beyond 6 months is generally associated with a chronic progression of the disease.
